About the Role
After almost 12 years of dedicated service our current CEO Philip Smith is standing down. We are enormously grateful for his devotion having established the charity from scratch.
FOTBOT is recruiting for a forward-thinking and positive individual to take up the role of Volunteer Chief Executive Officer at our AGM in March 2025, to succeed Philip Smith who is stepping down after successfully leading the charity for over 11 years.
Role Requirements
Essential Criteria
Leadership experience either in a paid or volunteering capacity
Strong understanding of the issues impacting all sixteen British Overseas Territories
Ability to motivate a team of volunteers to deliver ten to twelve events each year
Sound financial understanding of the challenges facing small volunteering organisations
Fundraising knowledge and ability to identify charity-friendly grant opportunities
Knowledge of the UK charitable sector and charity governance
Understanding of the need to promote events across the United Kingdom and within the Overseas Territories
Desirable Criteria (not essential but will be used to shortlist if the application pool is strong)
Experience in dealing with the Charities Commission
Previous experience in addressing governors, diplomats, Members of Parliament, senior civil servants, and leaders in the charity sector
Visited several Overseas Territories is an advantage though not a requirement
Public speaking experience addressing large-scale events
