NEWS FROM FOTBOT
FOTBOT was delighted to host Chris Howe MBE at a unique event earlier this month at the National Army Museum in London. Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the liberation of the Falkland Islands, Chris told us of his experiences surviving the sinking of the HMS Coventry, and how it shaped the war.
Chris spoke movingly about how the experience has stuck with him throughout his life. There is not a single day that goes by where he does not think about his colleagues that never came home. Chris emphasised what the motivation was to continue through all of the turmoil: his family. Although the anniversary of the liberation of the Falkland Islands was ultimately an event that we will celebrate, we also heard from Chris about those who did not get to come home to their families. We learned about the grievous Argentinian attack on sovereignty, something which felt particularly relevant with the invasion of Ukraine. Chris was a fantastic speaker, and all attendees were able to gain an invaluable insight into the war.
FOTBOT is fortunate enough to attract members from across all mainstream political persuasions. We welcome individuals from all walks of life that wish to support our charitable objectives.
